About
Why we tie the thread
A concept. Akai Ito is a design concept, not a real product or company. No account is created. The only thing this site collects is what you send through the waitlist form, and the documents below describe how the service would work if it existed.
Akai Ito (赤い糸 is the thread, not the logo) comes from an old story: the people you are meant to meet are tied to you by an invisible red thread. It can tangle and stretch. It never breaks.
What we would build
A twin that learns who you are from the services you already use, goes on millions of first dates with other twins while you sleep, and lives ten thousand simulated lives with the most promising one. You get one name, one table, one time.
What we would never build
- Infinite swiping.
- Likes you have to buy back.
- Streaks that punish you for living your life.
Who made this
This site is a concept piece about dating, attention and what we hand to machines. It is not affiliated with any of the apps whose names and logos appear on it.
